Neja Neja is our little black Straight Egyptian beauty by our jet black Ouroboros... She is such a sweet and tipey little Egyptian filly, pure black, like her dad... She has no white on her at all, which makes her the more striking ! Eventhough still so little, she exhibits incredible Arabian assets... her little head, profile and overall type exude Arabic beauty of the finest... Our stallion really shows how proud he is, in the photos below alongside this little black pearl :)
This is the sweet Hartland Jade model... She was sculpted by Kathleen Moody for the Hartland company and was painted by a Luxembourgian collector a very glossy "spraycan" black... upon her arrival from Luxembourg we toned that down and touched her up in oils with some brown shadings, to make her more interesting and less glossy, but retaining the OF (original finish) character of the piece...
Her name is quite the story... It is taken from the Italian nera nera, which means "black black" or "deep black", but as said by a toddler, not yet able to pronounce the "r" in "nera" correctly... That is how I pronounced it, while listening to a recurring song, my mom used to sing to me when I was little... The song was the famous Sei diventata nera ("you turned/became black", meaning "you tanned"), a 1964 hit by the Italian boy group Los Marcellos Ferial... what memories !
I thought it was a matching name to give to a deep black foal, reminiscent of things from my childhood...
Check out her pedigree & photos below :)
